Project Summary
The project comprised a 30 metre single-storey extension to the existing production facility, including external plant extension, extensions to existing crane beams, and modifications to existing canopy and internal works.
The extension build consisted of a central spine girder, approximately 4.5 metres deep, to provide a 30 metre clear span and to support pairs of curved-top trusses. The roof trusses were braced at top and bottom boom levels, to provide clear space for services to the full truss depth.
The single-storey external plant extension comprised cambered cellular beams supporting approximately 600 square metres of Kingspan metal decking.
Internally, we fabricated approximately 20 tonnes of prefabricated plate girder crane beams to extend the existing production facility.
Our site works required removal and relocation of existing steelwork to the existing gable, to facility the new extension.
