HSEQ Manager

Location: Guisborough, North Yorkshire
Salary: Negotiable
Contract Type: Permanent

The Position:

An experienced and qualified Health Safety Environmental & Quality Manager with extensive experience of managing all aspects of the role in the construction sector. Proficient and confident client facing, managing and supervising the delivery of project contractual requirements of HSE and Quality compliance.

Duties include:

  • HSEQ Management, and coordination of HSEQ requirements for up to 4-6 sites nationwide
  • Experience in HSEQ management processes, with knowledge of ongoing compliance with legislation.
  • Responsible for the management and up keep of the companies HSE management systems, OHSAS (phone number removed), with a vested interest in continued improvement and a personal goal in Health & Safety, accident free work environment in all aspects of our works.
  • Responsible for maintaining the companies ISO 9001: 2015 accreditations as well as managing the overall quality assurance aspects of the company’s operation.
  • Weekly client facing site meetings, with an emphasis on collaborative multi-disciplined projects
  • The candidate’s responsibilities will extend to cover sub contractor’s fabrication work, on site steelwork and cladding works, client representation and the overall focal point for the company.

DO Manager / Lead Draughtsman (Tekla)

Location: Guisborough, North Yorkshire
Salary: Negotiable
Contract Type: Permanent

The Position:

An experienced Tekla Draughtsman, your primary responsibility will be the supervision of and assistance with production and coordination of 2D and 3D models, detailed fabrication drawings and associated data in line with company procedures and contract-specific programmes.

5+ years’ experience using Tekla and a proven record within the industry (the relevant weighting of these factors will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis).

Duties include:

  • Experience of running projects is preferable but not essential and a demonstrated history of dealing directly with other disciplines would likely suffice if an individual is looking to progress into the role.
  • Reporting to the Project Managers, duties would include dealing directly with the Projects team, fabrication queries, liaising with connection designers, identifying and raising TQs, monitoring programme and the administration associated with variations.  It would be your responsibility, through dialogue with others, to establish and prioritise areas of work, distributing amongst the team.  A proportion of your time would be expected to be spent operating Tekla, maintaining in-house detailing systems, along with attending to general DO administrative duties.
  • Input on estimates may also be sought but devoid of onus.
  • If successful you will be working on large scale UK contracts across sectors including aviation, petrochemical, industrial and power generation.
  • North East based with occasional site meetings, often client-facing.

Project/Design Engineer

Location: Guisborough, North Yorkshire
Salary: Negotiable – dependant upon qualification and experience
Contract Type: Permanent

The Position:

We have  a permanent position for a Project/Design Engineer. You will be working in union with our drawing office and engineering team to manage the flow of technical information between clients & subcontractors and across the business. An excellent understanding of steel structures is a given, working with model and drawings alike.

Experience will dictate the competitiveness of the package and we need at least 5 years of that in the steel construction and fabrication arena.

Duties include:

  • Oversee  project from client award through to handover, coordinating the design, production & installation fully.
  • Understand the project requirements/ scope of work/ specifications etc.
  • Liaise with Client’s site teams, engineers and internal and external Draughtsman.
  • Liaise with Site Manager to ensure delivery of client project demand.
  • Manage Site Teams and Sub-contractors when required.
  • Liaise with the Company Buyer, Workshop and QS’s successfully working as a team.
  • Identify and manage any day-to-day issues.
  • Direct port of call for Site Teams.
  • To make sure all Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to.
  • Ensure all material; and fixings are ready to go to site as per program.
  • Coordinate issuing RAM’s, Early Warning Notifications.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent Knowledge and ability to read structural drawings, connection details and  specifications of various quality.
  • Highly organised.
  • Ability to produce programs.
  • Positive attitude to problems and dealing with staff & Clients at all levels.
  • Understanding of Structural Steel Structures.
  • Extensive previous work experience managing budgets for construction projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office/Project.
  • Excellent time management ability.
  • Ability to multitask with strong understanding of core manager duties.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities, including negotiation skills.
  • SMMSTS Health & Safety qualification preferred.
